Our Unlimited Research Model facilitates Scaling Qual Research by assigning seats to your team members, granting them access to your organization subscription.

From your subscription, your researchers will be able to start new projects.

The organization dashboard is only available for the organization admin on an unlimited subscription plan.

 

Managing Organization Members

An organization is a company, where the members of an organization all share the same email domain. An organization can have teams and users.

To manage your organization's members, start by clicking the "Members" button in the top right of the dashboardNote that this is only available from the dashboard to organization admins.

 

 

Add a Paid User to an Organization

Organization Admin can invite new users to available seats in their organization.

Instructions

  1. Sign in to your Discuss account
  2. Click on "Member" on the top right of your dashboard
  3. Click on "Invite Members"
  4. Simply enter their emails, select roles, and add them to the organization.
    • If all seats are filled, they will be able to add a new seat to their subscription on the dashboard.
    • It's important to note that adding a user to the organization does not automatically give access to any projects. They need to be added to specific projects

 

Request Approval

When an organization has reached its seat limit, Researchers can request new seats from the Project Overview page by adding an Editor or Collaborator to a project.

When a request is made, the Organization Admin will receive an email notification letting them know that there is a pending request to add a new Researcher to their organization. They will also see a notification on their Dashboard when they log in, letting them know that a request is pending.

Any pending requests will be called out at the top of the page. The Admin can choose to Approve or Deny the request.

 

  • Approving a request

Approving the request will add a new seat to an organization’s subscription and the pending user will be promoted to the Researcher role. The system will also automatically promote the pending user to the Editor or Collaborator on the project where the request was made.

In the case where an Admin wants to approve the request without adding a new seat to the subscription, it is necessary to make a different user a Viewer before approving the new seat request.

  • Denying the request

An Admin can also choose deny from the dropdown and the pending user will remain a Viewer.

 

 

Move Users from Paid Research Seats to Viewers

Downgrading a user from a paid researcher seat to a viewer will modify the project permissions anywhere the user is a Project Owner, Editor, or Collaborator. Removing the user from all projects. The user must confirm the action, which cannot be undone. 

If the user being downgraded is a Project Owner, ownership for any projects will automatically transfer to the Organization admin making the change.

Viewers cannot edit any part of a project. They can only view the Recordings page, the Highlight Reel page, and the Self Capture page (if enabled). This role cannot share or download recordings. 

Instructions

  1. Navigate to the "Members" button in the top right of the dashboard. Note that this is only available from the dashboard and is not visible inside Projects or the My Account page.
  2. To downgrade a user from a paid Researcher seat to an unpaid Viewer, the Org Admin can simply click on the current role assigned to the user and select the desired Viewer role from the list.
  3. The Org Admin performing the role downgrade will be asked to confirm the role change action, as the role downgrade is irreversible.

  • Viewers can be switched to a Paid research seat at any time. However, the user would have to be manually added to each project they require access to.

 

Display All Users, Including Viewers

The Organization Admin dashboard shows a comprehensive list of Researchers, Viewers, and Admins. Admins can modify a user's role using the dropdown menu, with options including:

  1. Org Admin: Has access to the Members Dashboard, can invite other Admins, and change all user roles in the organization. Organization Admins have the same access as Researchers. The organization Admin role is paid members of the organization
  2. Researcher: Users that can create and have edit privileges on projects and be assigned as a Project Owner, Editor, or Collaborator on those projects. Researcher is a paid member of the organization.
  3. Viewer: Individuals with View-Only access to projects, limited to Poll Results, Recordings, and Highlight Reels on projects.

The options do not include a recruiter role. Recruiters are managed at the project level through the Project Members dialog and do not appear on the organization members' page. Recruiters do not count toward paid seats. 

 

Organization Roles and Impact Project Access

  • Changing a user's role from Researcher to Viewer: The user will move to a Viewer role on all projects.
  • Changing a user's role to Researcher: The user's access level on projects will not change.
  • Managing edit access to projects: Edit access to individual projects is still managed at the project level.

 

View Projects and Teams that a Researcher is Involved in

Instructions

  1. Navigate to the "Members" button in the top right of the dashboard. Note that this is only available from the dashboard and is not visible inside Projects or the My Account page.
  2. Navigate to the targeted researcher and click the 3 dots button to view which projects and teams they belong to
  3. You will then be able to view that specific researcher's projects and teams

User Searching and Filtering 

Admins can search, sort, and filter users using new options in the header. They can filter by Team, Email Domain, and Role. Searching by email and name is also available.

Users can further organize their lists by sorting based on the date of the last login.
