Before sending an interview invitation to your respondent we recommend sending them a tech check request. This will ensure that their device and setup are compatible with Discuss.
Sending Tech Checks
If the respondent's email information is entered in the respondent hub, Tech check links can be sent from the "Notify and Invite" button.
Once you are ready to send the tech check:
- You can click on "Notify and Invite"
- Then,"Tech Check Requests"
- You will see a template that can be sent to your recruits.
The template will include:
- System and hardware recommendations for the project
- Link to the project tech check.
- Sent from : no-reply@discuss.io
When the respondent clicks on the link, they can record a short video on the platform. You will be able to review the tech check including the video directly from the respondent hub.
Review The Tech Check Status
You can keep track of your recruit's progress once the notifications are sent.
From the respondent hub:
- You will be able to view under "Tech Check Status" the progress of a specific repondent's tech check.
- If the respondent has not yet clicked on the tech check link to submit their tech check, the status will show the date at time when the invite has been sent, it's the case for respondent Josh in the example below:
- If the respondent clicked the link but did not complete the tech check video submission, or did not wait for the thank you confirmation page, it will show as "Attempted Video Not Submitted", you might want to follow up with them before their interview.
It's the case for respondent Nada in the example below:
- Here are other tech check status messages that can appear in the respondent hub:
- If the respondent completes the tech check:
- the status under "Tech Check Status" will show a small play button.
- When you click the small play button you will be able to view more details about the submitted tech check.
When you play the tech check video, we suggest to confirm:
- Audio and video quality of your respondent are clear
- That there is a green checkmark next to the camera, microphone, and internet connection.
If there is an issue with the tech check you can send the respondent the following troubleshooting steps Troubleshooting Your Auto Tech Check or reach out to our help desk at helpdesk@discuss.io
The internet connection :
- Will be defined by an MOS score going from 1 to 5.
For your recruits we suggest that their MOS score is above 3, this ensures that they will be able to maintain good audio and video during the discussion.
If your respondent has a low score. Improvement of the MOS score can be done by asking the respondents to perform some troubleshooting, sharing with them Tips to Improve Their Network Speed, or asking for assistance from the Help Desk through helpdesk@discuss.io
