Instructions
- Login to your Discuss account.
- Click on the +New Project button from the top right of your dashboard.
Start Request
This is the first page, where you will confirm your subscription details and let us know what level of services you require for the project.
- Confirm Subscription (Flexpot Subscriptions Only): The subscription field will display the Organization name associated with your Flexpot Subscription. If you have multiple subscriptions, you will be able to select the correct one here.

Full Service - This is for project support that includes Recruiting, Project Management and Optional Add-Ons.
- You can indicate if you want recruitment for Live Interviews, Asynchronous Research Tasks (Self Captures), or both
- Live Interview Setup - This is for project support that includes Project Management and Optional Add-Ons.

Tech Only - This includes platform licensing along with services like Human Transcription, Platform Training and Live Support.
- New Research - Use this if your project will involve Live Interviews or Self Captures Activities.
- Off-Platform Uploads - Use this if you only want to upload media recordings.

Full Service - This is for project support that includes Recruiting, Project Management and Optional Add-Ons.
Project Basics
Depending on the service level, this page will be where you enter more detailed information about your project.
- Research Objective (Full Service Only) Let us know a bit about your project. Our team will use this information during the recruitment process to help find the best respondents. If you are running a project with both Asynchronous activities and Live Interviews, you will be able to enter different objectives for the different types of research.
- Async Activity Detail (Full Service Only) If you are requesting a project with async recruitment, please let our team know more about the tasks that will be involved in the project.
- Live Interview Device Selection - If your project involves live research, you can select if respondents must join from a computer or if mobile devices are allowed.
- Expected Timeframe - Let us know the expected time frame for your project.
Markets
Let us know where the research is taking place. This will help us understand what languages the research will be taking place in and ensure you get the best coverage for your project.
- Respondent country - The location where your respondents are located.
- Respondent Language - The language that your respondents will speak.
- Asynchronous Sample Size - If your project includes Async recruitment, let us know how many recruits you need to complete activities.
- Live Interview Sample - If your project includes live interviews, let us know how many sessions you will run, how many respondents will be in each session, how long each session will be.
- Moderator Needed (per Market) - Select this if you need Discuss to provide a moderator for Live Interviews. If you select this option, you will also be able to indicate if you need Discuss to create a report or discussion guide for this project. Note that you can add multiple markets to one project.
- Translator Needed (per Market) - Select this iif you need Discuss to provide a live translator for Live Interviews. You can choose either a simultaneous or consecutive translator (link to move info)

Async to Live Casting - If you are recruiting for both asynchronous tasks and live interviews, let us know if you want to use the async activities as part of the process of screening which respondents to include in the live interview.
- If you choose YES to this option, we will recruit the number of async respondents listed and fill the live interviews with those respondents. In this case, recruitment costs will be determined by the number of async respondents.
- If you choose NO, we will recruit the number of async respondents listed and a separate pool for the live interviews. In this case, recruitment costs will be determined by adding the async and live respondents.
Backups Page
(Full Service - Live Interviews Only)
If you are requesting Live Interview recruitment, you will be prompted to select the number of backup recruits for each market. We do recommend recruiting some backups to ensure that your project is executed smoothly.
Recruitment Criteria

Use this page to let us know the details our team will use to recruit for your project.
- Recruitment Criteria - Use this field to let our recruitment team know who you are looking to include in this project. If you are recruiting for Async Activities and Live Interviews separately, you can choose to enter different criteria for each methodology.
- Incidence Rate - Let us know if the respondents you are looking for will be more difficult to find. This generally refers to people who have specialized knowledge or professions such as doctors or business leaders. You can also say your aren’t sure and our team will help determine the incidence rate for you.

Screener - You can let us know if you would like us to create a screener for your recruitment process. You can also choose to have it translated into the respondents’ local language.
- Screener is complete: Use this setting if you do NOT want our team to confirm the criteria before creating the screener.
Add-Ons
Add-ons are project dependent. All users may not see all options. Select your project add-ons.
- Live Tech Support during Interview(s) - An agent will be available throughout your interviews for support and troubleshooting.
- Genie (Generative AI): Get to insights faster with instantaneous AI-powered interview recaps, project summaries, themes, and more that save, on average, 10-20 hours per project.
- Mobile Screen Share (also known as Mobile Usability) - Mobile Screen Sharing allows a participant to live stream a mobile phone application during an Online Live Interview session. The respondent downloads the approved DIO app from the app store and is then able to share their mobile screen during a live online interview.
- Training - Have a Home representative join you/your team in a meeting room for a training session(s).
- Embedded Consent Forms - Have respondents e-sign legal documents such as NDAs & compliance forms during the Tech Check or as they enter the interview. Forms are conveniently stored in one place & easy to review. We charge for the actual usage of the forms at the end of the project.
- Human Transcription - Get an accurate account of every word said during your sessions. Machine transcripts (85% accurate) are included at no extra cost.
If you have a Full Service project with Live Interviews selected you can add the following selections:
- Pre-Task/Homework - Let us know if the respondents will be required to complete an activity prior to attending the session. This will require additional shipping costs.
- Product Placement/Shipping - Let us know if you would like us to send a physical product to the respondent before the session.
If you have added Full Service project with Live Interviews and a Moderator you can add the following selections:
- Project Report - Let us know if you would like our team to create a project report. You can choose if you want a Full report, Summary report or Top Line report.
- Discussion Guide - Our moderators can create a discussion guide for your project prior to running the sessions.
Review and Submit
Review your project details before submitting.
- Project Summary - This section will list out all the details that you have requested on your project. You can use this to confirm your selections are accurate before submitting.
- Ready to Start - Let us know if you are ready to start your project or if you need more time to finalize any details on your end. If you are ready to start, a project manager will be assigned and your project will kick off right away. If you are waiting for details, we will wait until we get a final confirmation to get started.
After submitting, our team will respond promptly with the estimated cost of your project.
