- With just a few clicks, you can easily share your Self Captures activity link via email, social media, or community platforms. Alternatively, you can use our All-In-One platform to send activities directly to specific respondents or export individual Self Captures links.
Share Self Captures via the Respondent Hub
- Start by logging into your Discuss account to access your Project portal
- From the Respondent tab, click on "Respondent Hub"
- Once in the respondent hub, locate and click on the "Notify and Invite" option.
- Select the Self Captures activity you wish to send to your respondents.
- Scroll through the list of respondents on the right side and select the intended recipient(s) by checking the box next to their name.
- Click on the "Send" button to send the invitation.
- Optional: copy yourself in the Self Captures email notification

To send the Self Captures activity through the Respondent Hub, make sure respondents are already added to the add/edit modal within the Respondent Hub.
- The email will be sent from no-reply@discuss.io
- Respondents receive a hyperlink for easy access to their Self Captures activity—no prior Discuss account is required. Upon clicking the link, they'll simply enter their email address and name to get started. Here's the email received:
Manually share Self Captures links
Only Project owners, editors & collaborators can copy the general Self Captures link
- Start by logging into your Discuss account to access your Project portal
- From the Respondent tab, click on "Self Captures"
- Click the ''Copy Respondent Link" button and share the link with your respondents.
- Alternatively, if you've just created your activity, you can click on the "launch" tab & copy the activity link.
Export Individual Self Captures links
If you'd rather have individual Self Captures links in an Excel document to manually send to your respondents, we've got you covered. Project owners, editors, collaborators, and recruiters can easily export data.
- Start by logging into your Discuss account to access your Project portal
- From the Respondent tab, click on "Respondent Hub"
- On the top right of the page, click on "Export Data"
Inviting Respondent to Live Interviews

All of the following roles can schedule respondents to sessions, but some roles have limitations to only assign to sessions.
- Project Owner, Editors & Collaborators have Full Access
- Omni-recruiter (can assign all respondents to sessions, but cannot create new sessions)
- Recruiter (can only assign respondents they own to sessions, but cannot create new sessions)
Instructions
- Start by logging into your Discuss account to access your Project portal
- From the Respondent tab, click on "Self Captures"
- Click on "View all responses" & then click on the " By Respondent" view
- Click the 'Live Interview' dropdown button. You will be able to review the tech check and any consent forms this respondent signed to decide if this respondent is ready to be scheduled for an interview.
- Choose to create a session for the respondent to be placed in
- Or add to an already created session from the dropdown (not available for recruiters)
- Send the respondent an email to join the session by clicking the 'Send Invite' button.
- Choose to send the default template messaging of the email, or create a new template to send to the respondent. The interview link will automatically be sent within the body of the email.
- Send the respondent the invite. Optionally, you can choose to CC yourself to correspondence.
- Once a respondent is scheduled for a session, the session information will appear in the place of the 'Live Interview' dropdown button. Respondents can always be reassigned or removed from the sessions in the drop-down option at any point.
Alternatively, you can opt for the "Notify & Invite" button found in the Respondent Hub tab to send invitations to your respondents.
Send Self Captures Reminders
- Start by logging into your Discuss account to access your Project portal
- From the Respondent tab, click on "Self Captures"
- Click on "View all responses" & then click on the " By Respondent" view
- Click the 'Live Interview' dropdown button.
- Send the respondent a reminder email to join the session by clicking the 'Send Reminder' button.
Alternatively, you can opt for the "Notify & Invite" button found in the Respondent Hub tab to send reminders to your respondents.
Request a Task Redo
The 'Request Redo' button is visible to Project Owners, Editors, Collaborators, and Recruiters. Viewers will not have access to this button.
- When requesting task redos, each task is handled individually. If you send multiple redo requests to respondents, they will receive separate emails for each task.
- For tasks involving multiple photos, requesting a redo will remove all previous photo submissions.
- Keep in mind that asking for a redo requires the respondent to redo the entire task, and once requested, you cannot recall the original response or cancel the redo request.

Instructions
- Start by logging into your Discuss account to access your Project portal
- From the Respondent tab, click on "Self Captures"
- Click on "View all responses"
- To access the 'Request Task Redo' button, scroll down until you spot the "Request Task Redo" button.

Send the Redo Request by clicking the "Request Task Redo" button, positioned adjacent to the respondent's activity details.

A pop-up will appear allowing you to modify the default email template. If the default message suffices, simply click "Send"
- A request redo successfully sent message will appear on the screen.
- A 'Redo' icon will appear next to the respondents' name, indicating a redo has been requested for their task. This also indicates which respondents have a 'Redo" request in progress
- Upon sending the task redo request the task will transition to a 'pending' status.
Deleting a Respondent from an activity
- Start by logging into your Discuss account to access your Project portal
- From the Respondent tab, click on "Respondent Hub"
- Click on "Add/Edit Respondents" to view a list of all respondents.
- Identify the respondent you wish to delete. Click on the trash bin icon located to the left of the desired respondent's name.
- A warning prompt will appear. If you're certain about your decision, click 'Accept'.
- Deleting a respondent is a permanent action and cannot be reversed. You may incur charges related to the deletion of this respondent's submissions.
Double-Check Deletion:
If you want to ensure the respondent has been deleted.
- Navigate to your main self-captures project page.
- Click on "View All Responses" to see the currently collected responses. Confirm the respondent's absence from the list.
