Have more questions? Submit a request

This brief guide will provide instructions on how to import your own recordings. Importing recordings into our platform allows you to use our insights suite on research that may have been outside of Discuss.

You can easily enable off-platform research for the an additional cost. If this is something that you are looking to do, please talk to your account manager or email

Importing Recordings

Navigate to the "Insights" page in your project and then head to the "Recordings' tab.

Click the 'Tools & Download' dropdown button and then click 'Import Recording'.

Select the language the video is in. It's important to choose the language that the people are speaking in the recording so that the transcripts are generated in the proper language.

Select the video files you want to upload.

After selecting the files to upload, you should see an upload notification.

The upload time will vary. Smaller videos will upload within minutes while larger videos may take up to 15 minutes.

After refreshing the page, you should see your uploaded clips in the recordings section.

Supported Files for Off-Platform Research Uploads

We currently support only MP4 files. For the optimal experience, files should be under 8GB in size and less than 8 hours in duration.

NOTE: While our platform permits uploads of MP4 files up to 10GB, we strongly advise keeping your files under 8GB for the best experience.
