This article provides an overview of the Discuss.io chat feature, which allows you to chat during a discussion by sending instant messages to other project team members within a meeting or a private message to an individual participant. The chat feature is a great way to communicate with other team members in real-time, whether you are discussing a specific topic or just need to ask a quick question. You can also use the chat feature to have private conversations with individual participants, which can be helpful for discussing sensitive topics or sharing confidential information.
Chatting During a Discussion
Discuss.io provides a “Backroom” only available to Moderators, Observers, Translators, and Tech Support.
This additional chat room allows you to interact with other project members without involving the panelists in the room.
1. To access the Backroom, click the Chat Icon on the meeting room’s right-hand side:
2. Select the “Backroom” tab to send and view messages among your team.
3. Other Moderators, Observers, Translators, and Tech Support Agents will be able to see and respond to your messages during the discussion, but only messages typed in the Public section can be read by panelists.
4. When using the Help! button, please monitor your private chats. Your support agent will provide assistance there should you need it.
You can download backroom and public chats after the recording processes by going to your project and selecting Insights > Recordings > Tools & Downloads.
