At Discuss, we offer a wide variety of training modules to get you started on your project. This article will help you determine which modules to select when booking a training in order to maximize the value of your session. Important questions to consider when booking a training:

For whom am I booking this training?

  • If you are booking a training for a moderator who has never used the platform, Discuss offers a standard moderator training that will cover system requirements, live support, and meeting room functions from a moderator perspective.
  • If you are booking a training for observers/clients, Discuss offers an observer training that will cover system requirements, live support, and meeting room functions from the observer perspective.
  • If you are booking a training for a translator, Discuss offers both consecutive and simultaneous translation trainings to get your translator acquainted with the platform.
  • If you are booking a training for a recruiter, Discuss offers a respondent management training that will instruct your recruiter on everything they need to know about using the respondent hub, from requirements for respondents, assigning respondents to sessions, sending out tech checks and invites, and checking dispositions after interviews.

Do I have a project coordinator?

  • For projects without coordination, Discuss offers project setup training that covers how to manage project members, schedule interviews, assign moderators, upload documents and stimuli, and manage tags and recordings.

Am I using an external recruiter?

  • If you are you are bringing your own recruits, or using a recruiter who is not familiar with the platform, Discuss offers a respondent management training that will instruct your recruiter on everything they need to know about using the respondent hub, from requirements for respondents, assigning respondents to sessions, sending out tech checks and invites, and checking dispositions after interviews.
  • If your recruiter is familiar with the platform, there is no need to cover respondent management in a full platform training for moderators and project owners.

Will my project utilize a translator?

  • If so, Discuss offers trainings for consecutive or simultaneous translation sessions. These can be added to a full platform training so that the translator may leave after having their role explained and moderators and project owners can remain for the rest of the training.

Does my project have live support?

  • If so, what your support agent does can be covered in training.
  • If not, Discuss offers self-support training that focuses on how to troubleshoot common technical issues with participants.

Will my project utilize mobile screen sharing?

  • If so, Discuss offers a complete mobile screen sharing training that covers setup, requirements, and how mobile screen sharing works for respondents and moderators.
