Overview
This brief guide will provide information on our system requirements. As a respondent, it is your responsibility to ensure you meet the system requirements before potentially taking part in a session. We will cover system requirements for all devices supported by Discuss.
Please note for most sessions a phone or tablet cannot be used. This is a decision the researcher makes for their project. If you do not have a computer report this to your recruiter for more advice.
System requirements
You should answer yes to all of these system questions before starting:

- Are you joining from a desktop or laptop computer, Windows or Mac? or
- Have you been instructed to complete the tech check on a mobile device?
- Are you joining from a free and open network that allows for streaming video and audio from Discuss.io? (streaming video only applies if required for the session)

Before you access the tech check link, ensure you are using:

Chrome is preferred but if it does not work for you, you can always switch to Firefox, Edge, or Safari. If you are not sure what browser and operating system you are using, read here. All of these browsers are free and easy to download.

Phone or tablet (Android and Apple)
Mobile OS will not be acceptable for all tech checks. If you can't record your auto tech check on mobile you will need to try again on a computer with the requirements listed above.
Please note for most sessions a phone or tablet cannot be used. This is a decision the researcher makes for their project. If you do not have a computer report this to your recruiter for more advice.
