This article summarizes what to expect in the meeting room when participating as a respondent via a smartphone or tablet. We will cover the process of joining the session, how to check your chats and how to change your device settings.
How to Enter the Meeting Room as a Respondent via Smartphone or Tablet
When entering the meeting as a respondent, you will be prompted to enter your immediate verification information (name, email, and optional phone number) to identify their arrival.
On pressing 'Continue', you will be met with the platform's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
You must allow their browser to access their camera/microphone in order to be able to participate in the conversation when prompted.
You will then be prompted to complete a device and connection tech check, where they can test your device and connection.
If you do not select any changes or do not press 'Continue', you will be automatically moved to the respondent waiting room after 7 seconds.
***Note: Respondents camera & microphone settings will always default to being off when in the device selection phase of the entry flow.
You will then be led into the waiting room.
While in the waiting room, moderators and live support agents will have the ability to direct chat with respondents.
You will then be kept in the waiting room until the moderator or live support agent is ready to admit them.
