Overview
This article summarizes what to expect in the meeting room when participating as a respondent via a mobile device. We will cover all features available to respondents such as using chat, polls, interacting with stimuli, how to change device settings, and video stream quality.
Participating as a Respondent in a session via a Mobile Device or Tablet
Recording ON/OFF
Once in the meeting room, you will always be made aware of whether the session recording is 'ON' or 'OFF' by the bar that appears at the top of the screen in portrait mode, and to the right when in landscape mode.
Device Settings
Camera & Microphone Settings
The camera and microphone ON/OFF controls will live at the footer of the screen for ease of needing to turn the camera or microphone off within one tap.
Respondents that are on devices with multiple cameras, can quickly rotate which camera they want to stream by clicking the rotation icon on their stream.
Respondents are also able to control what camera or microphone they want to be participating with after entering the meeting room. They are able to tap the menu and be led to a setting dialogue where those functions are controlled.
Video Stream Quality
Respondents can also update their video stream quality in their settings.
***Note: For respondents on mobile devices, setting the stream quality to low assists with saving battery life.
For any settings changes made in the settings dialogue, respondents will be required to click 'Save' to update their preferences in real time.
Chat
The public chat and private chat with individual respondents will be available as alternate means of communication in the meeting room.
When communicating with the respondent, notifications will appear once there are messages for them to review in the public or private chat.
If a session recording is set to ON, the chat will always give the respondent visibility into if the recording is turned ON when using the chat feature.

Polls
Polling is also a meeting room functionality supported on mobile. Polls will only appear when launched for mobile respondents.

Shared Videos or Screenshare
Mobile respondents will also be able to view videos and desktop screenshare. Videos that are shared with a resolution higher than 720p, may result in lagging or freezing on mobile devices.
Whiteboard
A limited version of whiteboard tools is available for whiteboard exercises for respondents that enter on a mobile device.
All other controls outside of whiteboarding tools will move into the menu options list.
Respondents who are using the whiteboard from a mobile device will have access to:
Pre-assigned color of the markup
When the whiteboard is open, each respondent will be assigned a different color automatically. Moderators can easily change the color of respondents mark up in a live session.
***Note: Respondents will not be able to change their color. If the respondent's color is not clearly visible when marking up the chosen stimulus, it will be on the moderator to reassign the color for that respondent.
Pinch zoom
Respondents will be able to unclick any of their tools to move around or pinch-zoom on any of the stimuli shared with them.
Drawing tool
Used to create markups on the whiteboard.
Add text
Respondents and moderators are able to choose their font size (ranging from 10 to 22), and then click confirm to submit the text to the whiteboard, or "x" to cancel their input. Text cannot be edited after being submitted. To resubmit, use the eraser on the text and resubmit the new text.
Select items to move around
Once a markup is created, it can be dragged to other parts of the screen.
Erase markups
Respondents will be able to erase any of the markups they had added to the whiteboarding activity.
